Features and Activities
• Natural beauty: The stream crosses the Olympus National Park, an area of particular value for its rare flora and fauna. The landscape is fairytale-like, ideal for those who love nature.
• Swimming: The wadis, or natural pools, attract many visitors for a refreshing dip, especially in the summer months.
• Hiking: The area is ideal for hiking through well-marked trails, such as the one leading to the Koromilia refuge, parallel to the flow of the stream.
• Canyoning and River Trekking: For action lovers, the Orlias Gorge is ideal for canyoning and river trekking activities, offering an unforgettable experience in a relatively unknown part of Olympus.
Access
Access to the Orlia stream is relatively easy.
1. From the National Road, exit at the junction for Dion.
2. Pass through the village of Dion and follow the good signage.
3. The road (initially asphalt and then a good dirt road) leads to the chapel of Saints Constantine and Helen, where you can park.
4. From there, the paths leading to the waterfalls and pedestals begin.
Due to its easy access, it is a popular destination both for residents of the wider region (Pieria, Thessaloniki) and for visitors from other places.
