📌 Key Tips for the Ascent
Overnight Stay: Although experienced hikers in excellent physical condition complete the hike in a single day (totaling about 8–10 hours of walking), a two-day ascent is recommended. You can spend the night at Refuge A, allowing you to set off for the summit early in the morning.
Kakoskala: The section between Skala and Mytikas requires absolute concentration, a clear head, and no fear of heights. Mistakes there are unforgiving. If there is humidity, fog, or rain, the ascent to Mytikas should be avoided.
Equipment: Mountaineering boots, trekking poles, a windbreaker/rain jacket, and a headlamp are essential; a helmet is also necessary for the final section due to the risk of falling rocks dislodged by climbers ahead.
Water: You can fill your water bottles at Prionia (Enipeas springs) and buy water or food at Refuge A.
