Refuge A (Spilios Agapitos) is a magnificent stone building situated along the E4 trail. It is located in a beautiful spot—a natural balcony—at an altitude of 2,100 meters. This welcoming lodge serves as an ideal resting point on the way to the summit.
The refuge is well-equipped to accommodate up to 110 overnight guests. It features a restaurant capable of serving visitors across two large dining areas. Known to most as the "Zolotas Refuge" (named after its long-time manager), the facility has been modified over the years to become a peaceful and pleasant place to spend quality time in the mountains—a place to get away from it all.
